Interesting names

On our trip last week we were doing some rhyming games in the car to pass the time on the drive. Two words that I put together were Snotty and Scotty. That took me back a few years.

When I worked at a small music store in Pasadena there was a local band called”Snotty Scotty and the hankies” They played local pubs, and usually showed up at the Doo-Da Parade (an alternative to the Rose Parade)

Another band name that I thought was pretty cool was “Kablamachunk” I think I saw that name on a marquis in North Hollywood once.

A band name that I was thinking of using at one time was “The Moronic White Element” There are more that I cant think of at the moment,  help me out here…

so heres my question of the week:

What’s the most interesting (or stupid) band name you’ve come across?

Does your band have an Interesting or off beat name? (notice I didn’t say stupid)

Worst band name I ever heard was Mourning Wood.

There used to be a band around here called Dow Jones and the Industrials. I like that one.

And then there’s Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.

Add one more “Gimme” and I think that name would be perfect!

I saw Kablamachunk in 1990. Great live act. The guitar player had a spatula for a whammy bar.

    Ed,

Thanks for stopping by. I worked in N. Hollywood in 1990 and heard of them around town but never went and saw them.

This is a page dedicated to my love and involvement in the music and the music industry. I have played some sort of musical instrument since the age of 9. and I spent 15 years in the musical instrument manufacturing sector. My love of music, and the tools to make music will both be fuel for this blog. I'll try to write one article a week featuring an instrument, artist, or other musical aspect. my hope is to create a place where ideas and opinions can be expressed, freely. I hope you enjoy, and come back often.
