First off: To all who have stopped by and commented here… I thank you.
Second: As of Monday the 7th…Eric Makes Music turns one year old. A milestone? Maybe. Most blogs these days last a handful of posts, and fade away. I’ll admit that this blog did not turn out the way that I thought it would.
Someone said it best: “Life is what happens while your busy making other plans”
75 points if you can guess who…and it’s not the “Guess Who”
My plan was to make a guitar over the year and post about it…well. That hasn’t happened. The truth is that now is a time in my life when I’m not really playing music all that much, maybe once or twice a month. I keep a guitar by the bed and play it daily for a few minutes so I get mi fix here and there.
As for guitar building, over the last year, I’ve made a few electric bodies, and have a pair of necks in the works as well, so all is not lost. Time is the equity that I lack. You may think that stay-at-home parents have an abundance of time on their hands but I haven’t found any yet.
Plans for the next year? I’ll continue to blog here and over at issues. With all the kids at home for the summer, it will be hard to make anything other than lunches, and snacks. Starting next week I have a project (unrelated to music) starting that will take up a fair amount of time throughout July.
I’m sticking to my guns here when I say (write) that music is still important. It may not be in the forefront of my life currently, but it will always be integrated into my being. I’ll build a guitar…eventually

Wow, a year already? I just checked, and my 1 year anniversary was 4/27.
Good luck with your projects, I always enjoy your blog.
Happy birthday to your blog and keep up the good work! It’s always a pleasure to read your blog, even if I don’t comment all the time!
Sorry! It’s Ovidiu from GuitarFlame.com, but browser cache plays tricks on me sometimes
